Intercultural Connections (previously Direct Dynamics) is a private educational enterprise operating in Spain since the 1980's. We collaborate with Spanish and American universities, foundations, and municipal and regional institutions to create unique educational and cultural programs in Spain for American college students, teachers, and lifetime learners. Our main focus is on Spanish Culture and/or Spanish Language.

Our founder and Director, Dr. Diane Buck was born and educated in the US, but has lived and worked in Spain for over 25 years. She holds a doctoral degree in Education from Pepperdine University (California), a Master's degree in Hispanic Literature and Civilization from New York University/University of Madrid and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from Ripon College (Wisconsin). Dr. Buck has served as Resident Director for study abroad programs for American college students in Spain for 15 years.


Our Legal Advisor and Financial Director, Miguel Angel Medina holds a law degree from the University of Granada, studied at the University of Kentucky in Lexington and has worked with study abroad programs for American students for 20 years. He combines private law practice with an active and ongoing interest in intercultural and international relations, and has served additionally as mentor and internship supervisor for international students.


Our Director of Humanties, Creative Writing and Art Applications, José Aguilar García, is a Spanish painter, writer, illustrator and musician, who specialized in Fine Arts in the Valencia (Spain) School of Fine Arts. Author and illustrator of numerous books for children and adolescents, he has taught courses in Illustration, Graphic Arts and Comics for pretigious Spanish universities and collaborated with municipal and national institutions on cultural campaigns and the preparation of historical books and documentation. Mr. Aguilar is a frequent participant on Spanish television and radio programs.

For each custom-designed program, a group of professors, professionals and tutors make up the selected team for that specific program. Many have collaborated with IC for years.
